Subjunctive for Hypothetical Comparisons: As if it were
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use `կարծես` (kardes) with the subjunctive mood to describe situations that aren't true but appear to be so.
- Use `կարծես` or `կարծես թե` to introduce the comparison (e.g., `Կարծես թե...`)
- The following verb must be in the Subjunctive (ըղձական) for unreal scenarios.
- Match the tense: Present Subjunctive for current hypotheticals, Past Subjunctive for past ones.

Counterfactual Comparison
Describing an action that mimics something that is definitely not true.

Both mean 'it seems', but 'կարծես' is a particle while 'թվում է' is a verb.
Learners often use the conditional (կգնամ) instead of the subjunctive (գնամ) after 'կարծես'.
