Past Continuous Tense Formation (-ırdı/-irdi)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use -ırdı/-irdi to describe an action that was in progress at a specific moment in the past.
- Add -ır/-ir/-ur/-ür to the verb stem based on vowel harmony.
- Add the past suffix -dı/-di/-du/-dü to indicate the past time.
- For negatives, insert -mır/-mir/-mur/-mür before the past suffix.
