Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Subjunctive (Aorist Subjunctive) after verbs like 'suggest' or 'recommend' to express desire or necessity.
- Use the subjunctive form after verbs of suggestion: 'Նա առաջարկեց, որ մենք գնանք' (He suggested that we go).
- The verb in the subordinate clause must be in the subjunctive mood, not the indicative.
- Negative suggestions use 'չ' before the verb: 'Նա խորհուրդ տվեց, որ չգնանք' (He advised that we not go).

Meanings
The subjunctive mood is used to express actions that are desired, suggested, or recommended rather than factual.
Recommendation
Advising someone to do something.
“Նա խորհուրդ տվեց, որ կարդամ այս գիրքը։”
“Բժիշկը առաջարկեց, որ հանգստանամ։”
Requirement/Necessity
Expressing that an action is necessary.
“Պահանջվում է, որ դուք ստորագրեք փաստաթուղթը։”
