Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'တယ်' for casual statements and 'ပါတယ်' for polite, formal statements to end your Burmese sentences correctly.
- Use 'တယ်' (te) with friends and family: 'ကျွန်တော် စားတယ်' (I eat).
- Use 'ပါတယ်' (pa-te) with strangers or elders: 'ကျွန်တော် စားပါတယ်' (I eat - polite).
- These particles always come at the very end of the verb phrase.
