The 'Status' Trick

If you can imagine it as a notification on your phone, you probably need a short form passive participle.

Always use -нн- in long forms (adjective-like) and -н- in short forms (predicate-like). Missing this is a major B1 giveaway!

Consonant Mutations

Verbs ending in -ить often change their consonant (д -> ж, т -> ч, п -> пл). It's the same pattern as the 'Я' form of the verb!
