Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'en' + present participle (-ant) to describe two actions happening at the same time or to explain how something is done.
- Form it by taking the 'nous' form of the verb, dropping '-ons', and adding '-ant'. (e.g., mangeant)
- The subject of the gerund must be the same as the subject of the main verb.
- It never changes form; it is invariable, meaning no gender or number agreement ever applies.

en + -antمیتواند به معنای «اگر» باشد. مثال:En étudiant, tu réussiras(اگر درس بخوانی، موفق میشوی). - بیان علت (Cause): گاهی دلیل انجام کار را نشان میدهد. مثال:
Il s'est blessé en tombant(او با زمین خوردن آسیب دید).
gérondif بسیار منظم است و تنها ۳ استثنای مهم دارد. مراحل ساخت آن به این صورت است: ۱. فعل را به زمان حال ساده برای ضمیر nous صرف کنید. ۲. پسوند -ons را حذف کنید. ۳. پسوند -ant را اضافه کنید. ۴. حرف اضافه en را در ابتدای آن قرار دهید.avoir: en ayantêtre: en étantsavoir: en sachant
