Conjugating Regular Verbs: The -ել/-ալ Endings
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Armenian verbs end in -ել or -ալ; remove the ending and add the specific suffix for each person.
- For -ել verbs, the stem is followed by -ում եմ (e.g., գրել -> գրում եմ).
- For -ալ verbs, the stem is followed by -ում եմ (e.g., կարդալ -> կարդում եմ).
- To make it negative, add 'չ' before the verb (e.g., չեմ գրում).
