Forming the Perfect Tense: Auxiliary + Past Participle
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The Perfect Tense describes completed actions with present relevance by combining the past participle with the auxiliary verb 'to be'.
- Use the -el/-al/-el participle: 'grel' (to write) becomes 'grel'.
- Add the present tense of 'linel' (to be) for the auxiliary: 'yes grel em'.
- In the negative, move the auxiliary before the participle: 'yes chem grel'.
