The simple past (бардым) implies a one-time completed action. For childhood habits, the -атын suffix is required.

Wrong: Мен бала кезімде бардым.
صحیح: Мен бала кезімде баратынмын.

Do not stack progressive and perfective auxiliaries on the same verb. Once you use 'болдым' (finished), the action is no longer 'жатыр' (ongoing).

Wrong: Мен жұмыс істеп болдым жатырмын.
صحیح: Мен жұмыс істеп болдым.
