Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To make a past tense verb negative, add the suffix -ma/-me/-pa/-pe before the past tense ending.

  • Identify the verb stem: 'bar' (go).
  • Add negative suffix: 'bar-ma' (didn't go).
