Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use the past habitual to describe actions that happened repeatedly in the past by adding '-uttidenu' or '-uttiddaru' forms.

  • Use the root verb + uttidenu for first person singular (e.g., naanu maaduttidenu - I used to do).
  • Use the root verb + uttidaru for third person plural/respectful (e.g., avaru maaduttiddaru - they used to do).
  • Negate by adding 'illa' after the habitual verb form (e.g., naanu maaduttiralilla - I didn't use to do).
Subject + Verb Root + uttid- + Agreement Suffix
