Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the past subjunctive to express regrets or hypothetical past scenarios that didn't happen.
- Use 'եթե' (if) + past perfect verb for the condition: 'Եթե իմացած լինեի' (If I had known).
- Use the conditional mood for the result: 'կասեի' (I would have said).
- Ensure both parts of the sentence reflect the past hypothetical nature.

This structure expresses a hypothetical situation in the past that contradicts reality.
Regret
Expressing sadness about a past choice.
