Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Armenian uses postpositions (after the noun) which require the noun to be in a specific case, usually Genitive or Ablative.
- Spatial/Topic postpositions like 'մասին' (about) or 'վրա' (on) require the Genitive case: 'գրքի մասին'.
- Exclusion/Distance postpositions like 'բացի' (except) or 'հեռու' (far) require the Ablative case: 'քաղաքից հեռու'.
- The postposition always follows the noun it modifies, unlike English prepositions which come before.

Meanings
Postpositions are words that function like English prepositions but are placed after the noun. In Armenian, the noun must 'agree' by taking a specific grammatical case (Genitive or Ablative) depending on the postposition used.
Spatial & Topical (Genitive)
Used for location, direction, or subject matter. Requires the Genitive case.

間違えやすい
Learners confuse the postposition 'մեջ' with the locative case ending '-ում'.

Always change the noun ending to '-i' before adding 'masin'.
Use the '-its' ending. Think of it as 'starting FROM this time'.
Remember that 'batsi' can sometimes come before the noun in colloquial speech, but the noun MUST still be Ablative.
