Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

The -iuchy/-yuchy form describes a secondary action happening simultaneously with the main verb.

  • Use -yuchy/-iuchy for present tense actions happening at the same time as the main verb.
  • The subject of the main verb must be the same as the subject of the participle.
  • It functions like an adverb, so it does not change based on gender or number.

Meanings

The present adverbial participle describes an action that occurs simultaneously with the main verb in a sentence.
