Formation of Present Perfect (Минало неопределено време)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use this tense to talk about past actions where the result matters now or the exact time is unknown.
- Combine the present tense of 'съм' (to be) with the past active aorist participle (l-participle).
- The participle must agree in gender (m/f/n) and number (s/p) with the subject.
- Unlike the renarrative mood, you MUST keep the auxiliary 'е' or 'са' in the 3rd person.

常见问题 (8)
Because the L-participle alone is used for the 'Renarrative mood' (hearsay). To show you are stating a fact you know or have experienced, the auxiliary `съм` is required.
Generally, no. If you specify a time like `вчера` (yesterday), you should use the Aorist (`видях`). Use Present Perfect for `някога` (ever) or `досега` (until now).
In plural, gender doesn't matter (always `-ли`). In singular, if the gender is unknown or generic, the masculine `-л` is the default.
Yes, exactly. It functions almost identically to the English Present Perfect in terms of life experience.
Most follow the 3rd person singular Aorist. For example, `отиде` -> `отишъл`, `дойде` -> `дошъл`. You'll need to memorize these common irregulars.
No. For a sequence of events in a story, use the Aorist. Use Present Perfect only if you are summarizing what has happened up to the present.
Because the exact time of the action is not defined or is not the focus of the sentence.
Only if there is a word before it. In Bulgarian, you cannot start a sentence with `съм`. You must say `Ял съм` or `Аз съм ял`.
