Usage of Imperfect for Ongoing/Habitual Actions

Use the Imperfect tense to describe ongoing or repeated actions in the past, like 'I was eating' or 'I used to play'.

  • Use it for actions happening over a duration: 'Четях книга' (I was reading a book).
  • Use it for habits: 'Всяка сутрин тичах' (Every morning I used to run).
  • Use it for simultaneous past actions: 'Докато готвех, той пееше' (While I was cooking, he was singing).
