Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Armenian, 'the' is a suffix attached to the end of a noun: -ը for consonants and -ն for vowels.
- Add -ը to nouns ending in a consonant: 'գիրք' (book) becomes 'գիրքը' (the book).
- Add -ն to nouns ending in a vowel: 'տղա' (boy) becomes 'տղան' (the boy).
- Use these suffixes to make a noun specific or definite in a sentence.
