In local markets, 'sasta' is a relative term. What is sasta for a tourist might be 'mahinga' (expensive) for a local. Bargaining is expected. In a Gurdwara, food is free (Langar). You would never use the word 'sasta' here, as the food is considered a blessing (Prasad), not a commodity. When discussing wedding gifts (Shagun), avoid calling anything 'sasta'. It is better to use 'shandaar' (grand) or 'vadiya' (good). In villages, people often trade goods. 'Sasta' might refer to a good harvest year where grain prices are low.
