Nominalization (Съществителни от глаголи/прилагателни)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Nominalization allows you to turn verbs and adjectives into nouns to sound more professional, academic, and concise in Bulgarian.
- Add '-не' to imperfective verb stems for processes: 'пиша' (write) → 'писане' (writing).
- Use '-ние' for abstract results or formal concepts: 'реша' (decide) → 'решение' (decision).
- Add '-ост' to adjectives for abstract qualities: 'весел' (cheerful) → 'веселост' (cheerfulness).
