意思
Expressing the need for food.
文化背景
It is polite to initially decline food even if you are 'ac'. The host will insist, and then you accept. This is called 'təklif' and 'təvazökarlıq'. Even if you aren't 'ac' for a full meal, you are always expected to be 'ac' for tea and sweets. Tea is served before and after every meal. In villages, if you say 'Acam', people might bring you fresh bread (təndir çörəyi) and cheese immediately, as these are staples of hospitality.
Add 'Çox' for emphasis
If you are really hungry, always say 'Çox acam'. It sounds more natural than just 'Acam'.
The 'C' vs 'Ç' trap
Be careful not to say 'Aç' (Open) when you mean 'Ac' (Hungry). Practice the 'j' sound.
