老板模式:肯定祈使句(命令式)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the base form of a verb to give direct orders, instructions, or advice without using a subject.
- Start with the verb: Use the base form (e.g., 'Sit' not 'To sit').
- No subject needed: The word 'You' is understood but never spoken (e.g., 'Open the door').
- Add 'Please': Use 'Please' at the start or end to be polite (e.g., 'Please wait').
Overview
you。You open the door.(你开门。)。但在祈使句中,因为我说话的对象就是你,所以我们默认大家都知道是在对谁说话。于是,那个 you 就被“踢”出了句子。剩下的部分就变成了 Open the door.。You run!,听起来就像是在陈述一个事实(你在跑);但如果大喊 Run!,这就是一个刻不容缓的指令。-s、加 -ed、变 ing),那么祈使句简直是你的救星。它的公式只有一句话:Wait | Wait! | 等等! |Close | Close the window. | 关上窗户。 |Turn | Turn left. | 向左转。 |to be 动词am, is, are 的时候很头疼。但在“老板模式”下,它们通通变回老家,统一使用 be。这是中国学生最容易出错的地方,请务必记住:不要说 Are quiet,要说 Be quiet。Be careful!(小心!) —— 就像我们在地铁站听到的提醒。Be brave.(勇敢点。) —— 朋友间的鼓励。Be quiet.(安静。) —— 图书馆里的要求。
Do!Do。这在中文里有点像“务必……”或者“一定要……”的感觉。Do come to my party!(一定要来参加我的派对啊!) —— 显得非常热情。Do be careful.(务必小心。) —— 显得非常关切。
Go straight and turn right.(直走然后右转。)Press the button.(按那个按钮。) —— 比如你在用自助咖啡机时。
Give me water,可能会显得有点没礼貌。为了变身“优雅的老板”,我们只需要加上一个魔法单词:please。Please pass me the salt.(请把盐递给我。)Open the door, please.(请开一下门。)
please 放在句首或句尾都可以,但放在句尾时通常前面会加个逗号。*Try this milk tea; it's great!(试试这杯奶茶,超赞!)Take a break.(休息一下吧。) —— 看到同事加班到深夜时可以这样说。
Watch out!(当心!)Look at the sign.(看那个牌子。)
Have a nice day!(祝你有美好的一天!) —— 结账离开超市时,收银员常说的一句话。Come in and sit down.(进来坐吧。) —— 客人来家里过春节时。
Follow for more.(关注我了解更多。)Like this video.(点赞这个视频。)
- 错误:
You listen to me. - 正确:
Listen to me. - 解析: 虽然中文可以说“你听我说”,但在英语祈使句中,加了
You之后,听起来要么像是在陈述事实,要么听起来语气非常冲(带有一种指责感)。除非你真的想吵架,否则请把you藏起来。
-s 或 -ing)- 错误:
Opening the window.或Opens the window. - 正确:
Open the window. - 解析: 受到“现在进行时”或“第三人称单数”的影响,很多同学会顺手给动词加后缀。记住,祈使句是“老板模式”,老板只看结果,不看过程,所以动词必须是最原始的状态。
be 动词用错- 错误:
Are happy.或Is quiet. - 正确:
Be happy.或Be quiet. - 解析: 这是中文里没有的概念。中文说“要开心”、“要安静”,没有动词的变化。英语里,形容词前面必须有一个动词支撑,而祈使句中这个动词只能是
be。
please- 场景: 在西餐厅点餐。
- 中国学生常说:
Give me a menu.(给我菜单。) - 更好的表达:
Please give me a menu.或Could you give me a menu?(虽然第二种是疑问句,但在初级阶段,记住加个please就能避免很多尴尬。) - 解析: 在中文里,我们对服务员说“给我拿张菜单”是很正常的,语气由语调决定。但在英语里,如果你不加
please,听起来真的像是在下达“死命令”,容易让人不舒服。
You close the door. | 有主语 you | 描述一个事实:你正在关门。 |Do you close the door? | 有助动词 Do | 询问一个信息:你会关门吗? |Close the door. | 没有主语,动词开头 | 下达指令:我要你去关门。 |- 1主语的有无: 只有祈使句是把
you藏起来的。 - 2语气的强弱: 祈使句最直接。如果你想表现得客气一点,你会用疑问句(比如
Can you...?);如果你想直接达成目的,就用祈使句。 - 3动词的形式: 在陈述句里,如果主语换成
He,动词要变closes;但在祈使句里,不管对谁说,永远是close。
Sit down,也可以对全班同学说 Sit down。英语的 you 本身就包含“你”和“你们”,所以祈使句对单数和复数都适用。Let's (Let us 的缩写)。Let's go!(我们走吧!)Let's eat.(我们吃饭吧。)
Send me the file(发文件给我),会显得非常不礼貌。在职场中,建议给祈使句加上 Please,或者改用更委婉的句式如 Could you please send me the file?。祈使句最适合用在:老板对下属、平级同事之间、或者非常熟悉的亲友之间。!(如 Stop!)。如果是普通的指令、指路或者建议,用句号 . 就可以了(如 Turn left.)。you 扔掉,直接抛出动词。你会发现,你的英语瞬间变得地道且有力量了!加油,你已经掌握了英语中最具行动力的“老板模式”!The 'No-Conjugation' Table

动词永远用原形
Come here!注意你的语气
please,命令听起来会很直接,甚至有点粗鲁。所以,跟陌生人或者在正式场合,记得加please来表示礼貌,就像发短信加表情一样!Pass me the salt, please.
隐藏的“你”
Go straight!意思就是“(你)直走!”这样你的指示听起来更简洁自然。语境是关键
please或者用更委婉的请求(比如Could you...?)通常会显得更有礼貌。不过,给朋友发信息时,直接一点也没问题。Look!Smart Tips

The 'Boss Verb' stands alone—no 'You' allowed on the throne!
视觉联想
Imagine a giant red 'STOP' sign. It doesn't say 'You stop' or 'To stop'. It just says 'STOP'. That is the imperative in its purest form.
Rhyme
To make a command, just use your head / Drop the 'you' and use the verb instead!
Story
A king sits on a throne. He is too busy to say long sentences. He points at a door and says 'Open!' He points at his tea and says 'Drink!' He never says 'You' because everyone knows he is the boss.

挑战
Look around your room. Give yourself 5 commands in English (e.g., 'Pick up the pen', 'Close the book').
文化笔记
British speakers often find pure imperatives too direct. They frequently add 'could you' or 'would you' to soften the command, even when they are technically giving an order.
American English is often more direct in service contexts. A server might say 'Enjoy your meal!' as a warm imperative, which is very common.
In the military, imperatives are the only form of communication for orders. They are barked quickly and without 'please'.
From the Latin 'imperativus', meaning 'pertaining to a command'.

Give me directions from your house to the nearest supermarket.

常见问题 (8)
It depends on your tone and the situation. With friends, it's fine for small things like `Pass the salt`. With strangers or bosses, add `Please` or use a question like `Could you...?`.
Usually, we use `Let's` (Let us) for commands that include ourselves, like `Let's go!`. A pure imperative is only for other people.
This is for extreme emphasis or when the speaker is very angry. It is not the standard way to give a command and can sound aggressive.
Use a period `.` for normal instructions or an exclamation mark `!` for urgent commands or excitement.
Yes! `Do sit down` is a very polite and formal way to invite someone to do something. It adds emphasis.
Yes. In the imperative mood, a single verb can be a complete, grammatically correct sentence.
The form is exactly the same. `Everyone, sit down!` uses the same base verb as `John, sit down!`.
Yes. `Always lock the door` is a common way to give permanent instructions or advice.
