Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To say you didn't do something politely, take the stem of the verb, add 'masen', and finish with 'deshita'.
- Identify the polite stem (e.g., {食べる|たべる} -> {食べ|たべ}).
- Add 'masen' to make it negative (e.g., {食べ|たべ} + masen).
