Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To ask for help in Burmese, simply add the polite particle 'ပါ' (pa) to your verb or request.

  • Add 'ပါ' after the verb to make it polite: 'ကူညီပါ' (Please help).
  • Use 'ပေးပါ' (pay-pa) for 'please do [verb] for me': 'လုပ်ပေးပါ' (Please do it for me).
  • Use 'မ' (ma) before the verb for negative requests: 'မလုပ်ပါနဲ့' (Please don't do it).
