Smart Tips

文化笔记
Using 'pay' (ပေး) is not just grammar; it's a social requirement. Doing an action for someone without adding 'pay' can sound blunt or rude, as if you are just performing a robotic task rather than a favor.

Yes! You can say `ပြောပြပေးပါ` (Speak-Show-Give) which means 'Please explain it to me'. Burmese often stacks 3 or 4 verbs.
In a V-V combination, yes. If used alone, it means 'to give' an object.
Put `မ` at the very start. `မလုပ်ပေးဘူး` (I won't do it for you).
Yes, it sounds softer than a direct command. `စားပါ` (Eat!) vs `စားကြည့်ပါ` (Please try eating).
`ယူလာ` means 'bring it here'. `လာယူ` means 'come and get it'. The order of actions matters!
Yes, `လုပ်ပေးနိုင်တယ်` means 'I can do it for you'. The 'can' usually goes at the very end of the stack.
`သွားကြည့်` implies you have to go somewhere else to see it. `ကြည့်` just means look at what is here.

Separable Verbs
Burmese V2s are independent verbs, not just prefixes.
Serial Verbs (in dialects)
Burmese verbs don't both conjugate for person; only the end of the stack does.
