During the month of Margazhi (Dec-Jan), the 'Kuḷirnta kāṟru' is considered sacred. People wake up early to sing devotional songs in this breeze. In movies, a 'Kuḷirnta kāṟru' often signals the arrival of a hero or a romantic moment, usually accompanied by a flute BGM. Traditional medicine warns that too much 'Kuḷirnta kāṟru' can increase 'Vata' dosha, leading to joint pains, so elders advise covering the ears. The 'Thendral' (cool southern breeze) is a specific type of Kuḷirnta kāṟru praised for bringing the scent of sandalwood from the Podhigai hills.
