كلمات الربط: و، لكن، أو

اربط أفكارك ببساطة: and تضيف، but تقارن، و or تقدم خيارًا.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'and', 'but', and 'or' to link equal grammatical elements while maintaining parallel structure and logical flow.

  • Use 'and' for addition: 'He likes tea and coffee.'
  • Use 'but' for contrast: 'It was raining but warm.'
  • Use 'or' for choices: 'Tea or coffee?'
Clause A + [and/but/or] + Clause B

نظرة عامة

تخيل إنك في أول موعد غرامي (date). بتقول: «أنا معجب بيكِ وبكلبك.» هنا الطرف التاني بيبتسم. طيب، تخيل لو قلت: «أنا معجب بيكِ، بس كلبك...» هنا الطرف التاني هيتسمر مكانه.
كلمة واحدة صغيرة غيرت مود السهرة بالكامل. دي هي قوة أدوات الربط (conjunctions) الأساسية. And و but و or هما الغراء اللي بيربط اللغة الإنجليزية ببعضها.

بس افتكر دايماً: and بتضيف، but بتناقض، و or بتخيّر. سهلة زي رقصة تيك توك، بس مفيدة أكتر بكتير.

نمط التكوين

1
استخدام الكلمات دي بيتبع نمط واضح جداً ومتوقع:
2
لربط الكلمات: [الكلمة 1] + [أداة الربط] + [الكلمة 2]
3
مثال: Coffee or tea؟
4
لربط العبارات: [العبارة 1] + [أداة الربط] + [العبارة 2]
5
مثال: In the morning and at night.
6
لربط جمل كاملة: [الجملة 1] + [,] + [أداة الربط] + [الجملة 2]
7
مثال: I am tired, but I am happy.
8
لاحظ الفاصلة (comma)! في الإنجليزية الحديثة، عادةً بنحط فاصلة قبل but لما تربط بين جملتين كاملتين. أما بالنسبة لـ and و or فالفاصلة غالباً اختيارية إلا لو كانت الجملة طويلة جداً.

Conjugation Table

الصيغة مثال الترجمة
--- --- ---
and I like cats and dogs. أنا بحب القطط والكلاب.
but I like cats, but I don't like dogs. أنا بحب القطط، بس مش بحب الكلاب.
or Do you like cats or dogs? هل بتحب القطط ولا الكلاب؟

حيلة للتذكر

افتكر كلمة ABO: حرف A لـ And (إضافة/Add)، وحرف B لـ But (تراجع أو تناقض/Backtrack)، وحرف O لـ Or (خيار/Option). الاسم يبان زي فصيلة دم، بس هو ده طوق النجاة بتاعك عشان تبني جمل إنجليزية أساسية!

متى نستخدمها

هتستخدم الأدوات دي حرفياً كل يوم:
  • مراسلة الصحاب:
أنا في المول and جعان جداً.
  • السوشيال ميديا:
    منظر رائع، but الجو برد جداً! ❄️
  • طلب الأكل:
    عايز برجر or بيتزا.
  • مقابلات الشغل (على Zoom):
    أنا بتكلم إنجليزي and إسباني.
  • نتفليكس:
    المسلسل حلو، but النهاية وحشة.
في حياتنا الرقمية دلوقتي، بنبدأ الجمل كتير بالكلمات دي في كابشنز إنستجرام أو واتساب. زي لما تقول: But why though؟ (بس ليه طيب؟) أو
And then he left!

  1. 1الجملة اللي ما بتخلصش (The Run-on Sentence): إنك تستخدم and مرات كتير ورا بعض.
رحت المحل and اشتريت لبن and شفت صاحبي and اتكلمنا and...
    وقف هنا! استخدم النقطة.
  2. 2الفاصلة الناقصة: نسيان الفاصلة قبل but.
I like him but I hate his music.
    الصح إنها تكون:
I like him, but I hate his music.
  3. 3أدوات الربط المزدوجة: إنك تستخدم اتنين مع بعض. ✗
I want water but or juice.
    الصح: ✓
    I want water or juice.
  4. 4الإفراط في استخدام 'And' في القوائم:
I like apples and oranges and bananas.
في الإنجليزي، بنستخدم الفواصل وبنحط and بس قبل آخر حاجة:
I like apples, oranges, and bananas.
  5. 5اللخبطة بين 'But' و 'Or':
Do you want milk but sugar؟
(دي جملة غريبة كأنك بتتحدى حد). استخدم or للاختيار:
Do you want milk or sugar؟

مقارنة مع أنماط مشابهة

ساعات المتعلمين بيتلخبطوا بين الأدوات دي وبين so أو because.
  • And بتضيف معلومة vs. Because بتدي سبب. "I'm tired and hungry« (حقيقتين) vs. »I'm tired because I worked late" (سبب).
  • But بتظهر التناقض vs. So بتظهر النتيجة. "I'm tired, but I'm working« (تناقض) vs. »I'm tired, so I'm sleeping" (نتيجة).
  • Or بتظهر الخيار vs. Either...or (دي مستوى A2/B1).

"But wait, there's more!" (بس استنى، لسه فيه أكتر!).

الأسئلة الشائعة (8)

Yes, you can! It is common in modern writing for emphasis, though some very formal teachers might still discourage it.

It is the comma before the final 'and' or 'or' in a list of three or more items (e.g., 'A, B, and C').

Use a comma before 'but' when it connects two full sentences (independent clauses).

It means using the same grammatical form for all items in a list (e.g., 'I like running, jumping, and swimming').

In some cases, yes! 'Work hard and you'll pass' means 'If you work hard, you'll pass.'

It is common in legal and technical writing but should be avoided in creative or casual writing.

It's a mistake where you join two sentences with only a comma and no conjunction.

Usually, but it can also mean 'except', as in 'Everyone but me was there.'
