Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Croatian uses a flexible Subject-Verb-Object order, but the most common way to start is simply Subject + Verb + Object.
- Subject often comes first: 'Ja čitam knjigu' (I read a book).
- The verb agrees with the subject: 'On radi' (He works).
- Negation adds 'ne' before the verb: 'Ja ne radim' (I do not work).
