Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Lao, adjectives always come AFTER the noun they describe, unlike in English.

  • Place the adjective immediately after the noun: 'House big' (ເຮືອນໃຫຍ່).
  • Use the particle 'ທີ່' (thi) for longer or more complex descriptions.
  • Adjectives do not change form based on gender or number.
