جمله شرطی نوع اول: استفاده از افعال کمکی (can, might, should)
can, might, should میتونی امکانهای آینده و نصیحتهات رو دقیقتر نشون بدی.
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use modals like 'can' or 'might' in the result clause to show ability, advice, or possibility instead of just certainty.
- Use Present Simple after 'if' (If it rains...)
- Use a modal + base verb in the result (we can stay).
- Never use 'will' in the 'if' part of the sentence.
If you have time, you will read my report(که شبیه تهدید به نظر میاد!) به جای اینکه بگی:
If you have time, you could read my report(که شبیه یه آدم حرفهایه).
If you miss this turn, you may need to find a new route.اینقدر مؤدبه که نمیگه «تا ابد گم خواهی شد».
این گرامر چطور کار میکنه
If + حال ساده (Present Simple)، و بعدش will + شکل ساده فعل (Base Verb). این نون و پنیرِ یادگیری زبان انگلیسیه. اما will فقط یه کار بلده: بیان قطعیت.will رو با یه مودالورب دیگه مثل can ،may ،might ،should یا must عوض میکنی، قسمت If دقیقاً همونطوری که بود باقی میمونه. جادو توی قسمت دوم جمله (نتیجه) اتفاق میفته.if شرط رو تعیین میکنه (اون ماشهای که شلیک میشه). قسمت نتیجه، جایی که مودال نشسته، به ما میگه که *نوع* نتیجه چیه. آیا یه احتماله؟If we capture the flag, we can win، داره درباره *احتمال* یا *توانایی* برنده شدن حرف میزنه، نه یه پیشگویی تضمینی.
we will win، احتمالاً زیادی به خودش مغرور میشد و بازی رو میباخت. استفاده از مودالها باعث میشه حرفات ظریفتر و منطقیتر به نظر بیاد، و راستش رو بخوای، خیلی بیشتر شبیه یه نیتیو (Native) به نظر میرسی که میدونه زندگی غیرقابل پیشبینیه.الگوی ساخت
if شروع کن. فاعل رو بیار. بعد از حال ساده (Present Simple) استفاده کن. بله، حتی اگه داری درباره آینده حرف میزنی! انگلیسی یه کم عجیبه. نگو If I will go. فقط بگو
If I go.
if شروع کردی، حتماً باید از کاما استفاده کنی. اگه جمله رو برعکس نوشتی، دیگه نیازی به کاما نیست.
can ،might ،should و غیره). بعدش فعل ساده (Base Verb) رو اضافه کن (همون اینفینیتو بدون to). نه -s میخواد، نه -ing و نه -ed. فقط خودِ فعلِ خام.
کی استفاده کنیم
- احتمال (
might،may): وقتی حدوداً ۵۰-۵۰ هستی از اینا استفاده کن.If I get my paycheck today, I might buy those new sneakers on Amazon.
تو هنوز قولی به حساب بانکیت ندادی، فقط داری رویاپردازی میکنی. - توانایی یا اجازه (
can): عالی برای موقعیتهای اجتماعی.If you’re free tonight, we can hop on Discord and play some Valorant.
یا برای اپلیکیشنها:If you upgrade to Premium, you can skip all the ads.
- نصیحت (
should،ought to): این برای وقتیه که میخوای یه دوست خوب (یا یه کم فضول!) باشی.If you want to pass the exam, you should probably stop scrolling TikTok for five hours straight.
این یه پیشنهاده، نه قانون. - اجبار (
must،have to): این دیگه فاز «خیلی جدی» هست.If you use the company kitchen, you must clean up your mess.
اگه تمیز نکنی، بعداً یه پیام عصبانی توی Slack دریافت میکنی.
If we reach the summit, we might see the sunrise!) و چه وقتی فقط داری غذا سفارش میدی (
If the delivery guy arrives, I can finally eat)، این مودالها بهت این انعطاف رو میدن که زندگی رو همونطوری که هست توصیف کنی: نامنظم، غیرقطعی و پر از گزینههای مختلف.
اشتباهات رایج
If I will see him, I will tell him. همینجا استپ کن! توی قسمت
if ، آینده با همون زمان حال ساده بیان میشه. پس فقط بگو If I see him. مغزت میخواد اونجا will بذاره چون حس میکنه داری درباره آینده حرف میزنی، اما باید با این وسوسه بجنگی، مثل جنگیدن با وسوسه خریدنِ یه قهوه دیگه که واقعاً بهش نیاز نداری.Modal + To هست. مودالهایی مثل can ،might و should خیلی مستقلان. اونا نیازی ندارن که to دستشون رو بگیره. درسته که بگی you should go نه you should to go. تنها استثناها have to یا ought to هستن که در واقع فامیلهای عجیبوغریبِ خانوادهی مودالها حساب میشن. همچنین حواست به -s سوم شخص باشه. مودالها هیچوقت تغییر نمیکنن. همیشه میگیم he can نه he cans (مگر اینکه داری درباره قوطی کنسرو حرف میزنی، که اون یه درس دیگهست!). در نهایت، سطح قطعیت جملاتت رو قاطی نکن. گفتنِ If you eat that entire pizza, you might feel sickخیلی واقعبینانهتر از گفتنِ
you will feel sickهست. بعضیها معدهشون از فولاده، دستکمشون نگیر!
مقایسه با الگوهای مشابه
این با First Conditional معمولی که فقط will داشت چه فرقی داره؟ همهاش به اون «حسی» (vibe) برمیگرده که منتقل میکنی:
will: If I study, I will pass.(این یه قوله. تو مطمئنی. «توِ آینده» از الان داره جشن میگیره.)
can: If I study, I can pass.(این درباره پتانسیله. تو تواناییش رو داری، اما آیا واقعاً انجامش میدی؟)
might: If I study, I might pass.(این برای وقتیه که یه کم بدبینی. شاید امتحان سخت باشه، شاید فصل غلط رو خونده باشی.)
این رو با نوع دوم شرطی (Second Conditional) قاطی نکن (If I studied, I would pass). شرطی نوع دوم برای موقعیتهای تخیلی یا خیلی غیرمحتممه؛ مثل «اگه قرعهکشی رو میبردم، یه جزیره خصوصی میخریدم». اما نوع اول (با هر مودالی) برای احتمالات واقعی در آیندهست. اگه همین الان یه بلیط قرعهکشی توی دستته، از نوع اول استفاده میکنی:
If I win, I might quit my job.اما اگه فقط پشت میزت نشستی و داری رویاپردازی میکنی، از نوع دوم استفاده کن. دونستن این تفاوت باعث میشه پات روی زمین باشه، یا حداقل دقیقتر رویاپردازی کنی!
سؤالات رایج
آیا میتونم از could توی First Conditional استفاده کنم؟
بله! could به عنوان یه نسخه ملایمتر و مؤدبانهتر از can یا یه نسخه با قطعیت کمتر از might عمل میکنه.
If you have a minute, could you help me with this Excel sheet?
آیا فرقی بین may و might هست؟
توی چت کردن و حرف زدن معمولی، واقعاً نه. may یه مقدار رسمیتره، اما اگه از might استفاده کنی، هیچکس به پلیسِ گرامر زنگ نمیزنه!
میتونم مودال رو توی قسمت if بذارم؟
معمولاً نه. مودالها متعلق به قسمت نتیجه هستن. نمیگی
If I can go, I will be happy. فقط میگی
If I go... یا If I am able to go....
اگه بخوام نصیحتم خیلی محکم باشه چی؟
از must استفاده کن.
If you see a fire, you must exit the building.اینجا وقتِ استفاده از
should نیست. You should probably leave the burning buildingبرای یه وضعیت اضطراری زیادی بیخیال به نظر میاد!
اگه جای جملهها رو عوض کنم، معنی تغییر میکنه؟
اصلاً!
I might go if it’s freeو
If it’s free, I might goدقیقاً یه معنی رو میدن. فقط قانون کاما یادت نره! اگه
if اول بود کاما بذار، اگه if وسط بود کاما نذار.

Smart Tips
Use 'might' instead of 'will'. It makes the request feel less like a demand.
Read the sentence aloud. If you naturally pause after the first part, you probably need a comma.
Use 'must' instead of 'should' to show that the condition is vital.
Check if 'will' is in the 'if' part. If it is, delete it!

Modal Reduction
In fast speech, 'can' is often reduced to /kən/ (kun), while 'can't' is stressed with a clear /æ/ sound.
The 'If' Schwa
The word 'if' is often very short and unstressed.
Conditional Rise-Fall
If it rains (rise), we can stay home (fall).
The rising tone on the if-clause signals that the thought is incomplete.

روش یادسپاری
If the Present is the key, the Modal sets the possibility free.
تداعی تصویری
Imagine a fork in the road. The 'If' is the start of the road. 'Will' is a straight line, but 'Might' is a foggy path, and 'Should' is a signpost giving advice.

نکات فرهنگی
British speakers often use 'might' or 'could' to sound more polite and less direct than 'will'.
Americans frequently use 'should' for strong recommendations in conditional sentences.
Use of 'might' is very common to express a laid-back, non-committal attitude.
Conditionals in English evolved from Old English 'gif' (if), which set up a hypothetical premise.

Yes, you can use `could` to show a theoretical ability or a very polite suggestion, though it's more common in the second conditional. In the first conditional, it means 'it is possible that we will be able to'.
In English, the `if-clause` sets the condition, and we use the present tense to represent that condition as a fact or a real possibility. Using `will` there is redundant and grammatically incorrect in standard English.
In first conditionals, they are interchangeable. `May` is more formal and slightly more certain, while `might` is more common in conversation and suggests a slightly lower chance.
Only if the `if-clause` comes first. If you say 'I can help you if you want,' no comma is needed.
Yes, but it's very strong. Use `should` for friendly advice and `must` for things that are absolutely necessary, like 'If you drive, you must have a license.'
Yes, you can use the Present Continuous in the if-clause if the action is happening now or is a fixed plan. 'If you're going to the store, can you buy milk?'
It's rare but possible when talking about present ability as a condition. 'If you can play the piano, you can join the band.'
Then you need a 'Mixed Conditional,' which is a more advanced rule. First conditionals only deal with future results.

In Other Languages
Si + Presente, Poder/Deber + Infinitivo
Spanish speakers often try to use the future in the 'if' clause when speaking English.
Si + Présent, Pouvoir/Devoir + Infinitif
French learners often struggle with the 'no will' rule because they use the future more flexibly.
Wenn + Präsens, Modalverb
German word order (verb at the end of the if-clause) is the main hurdle.
~tara / ~ba + modal equivalent
Japanese doesn't have a direct 'if' word that functions exactly like the English one.
In / Idha + Present
The sequence of tenses in Arabic is quite different from English.
Ruguo... jiu...
Chinese has no verb conjugation, so the 'Present Simple' rule is purely about word order.
