Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'sudah' or 'telah' before a verb to indicate an action is finished or completed.

  • Use 'sudah' for general completed actions: Saya sudah makan (I have eaten).
  • Use 'telah' for formal or written contexts: Kerajaan telah mengumumkan (The government has announced).
  • Place the marker directly before the verb: Dia sudah tidur (He has slept).
