Thai lunar dates use the moon's cycle to determine religious holidays; remember 'Kham' for waxing and 'Ram' for waning phases.
- Use 'Kham' for waxing moon (1-15): 'Kham 5' is the 5th day of the waxing moon.
- Use 'Ram' for waning moon (1-15): 'Ram 8' is the 8th day of the waning moon.
- Months are numbered 1-12, but often referred to as 'Duean' followed by the number.
