eshitmoq

§ "Eshitmoq" vs. "Tinglamoq"

Many English speakers learning Uzbek confuse "eshitmoq" (to hear/listen) with "tinglamoq" (to listen actively). While both involve sound, their usage is different. In English, we can often say "Are you listening?" without specifying *what* you're listening to. In Uzbek, with "eshitmoq," it's usually best to include the object, even if it's implied in context. While not always a 'mistake', omitting it can sometimes sound incomplete or less natural.
