Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'ပါ' for general politeness, 'ခင်ဗျာ' if you are male, and 'ရှင့်' if you are female to sound respectful.
- Add 'ပါ' to the end of any sentence to make it polite: 'စားပါ' (Please eat).
- Male speakers add 'ခင်ဗျာ' at the end of sentences for extra politeness: 'ဟုတ်ကဲ့ခင်ဗျာ' (Yes, sir/ma'am).
- Female speakers add 'ရှင့်' at the end of sentences for extra politeness: 'ဟုတ်ကဲ့ရှင့်' (Yes, sir/ma'am).
