Rhetorical Inversion
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Rhetorical inversion shifts the focus of a sentence by placing the emphasized element at the very beginning.
- Place the emphasized object or adverbial at the start: 'V mesto grem' (To the city I go).
- Ensure the verb follows the fronted element to maintain syntactic flow: 'Nikoli ne bom pozabil' (Never will I forget).
- Use this sparingly to avoid sounding overly dramatic or archaic in casual conversation.
