Contexto cultural
Lithuanians are extremely proud of their language's archaic nature. Speaking even a few words of Lithuanian as a foreigner is seen as a sign of great respect and is often rewarded with smiles and better service. In communities in Chicago or London, 'kalbėti lietuviškai' is a way to maintain a connection to the homeland across generations. While many young Lithuanians speak excellent English, official business and legal matters must be conducted in Lithuanian by law. Lithuanian is often studied by linguists worldwide because it has preserved many features of Proto-Indo-European. To 'kalbėti lietuviškai' is, in a sense, to speak a living fossil.
The '-iškai' Rule
Remember that for almost all languages, you just take the nationality and add '-iškai'. Angliškai, vokiškai, rusiškai!
Don't say 'lietuvių'
Avoid saying 'Aš kalbu lietuvių'. It's the most common beginner mistake. Always add the '-iškai'.
