Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Vowel Sandhi is the process where two adjacent vowels merge or change to make speech flow smoothly in Telugu.

  • Akaara Sandhi: 'a' + vowel = 'a' drops (e.g., 'raama' + 'aadu' = 'raamaadu').
  • Ikaara Sandhi: 'i' + vowel = 'i' becomes 'y' or drops (e.g., 'kavi' + 'aadu' = 'kavyaadu').
  • Ukaara Sandhi: 'u' + vowel = 'u' often drops (e.g., 'raamu' + 'eedu' = 'raameedu').
