How This Grammar Works

Grammatikalisch zieht على das folgende Nomen in den Genitiv (Majrūr). Das heißt meistens, das Nomen bekommt ein *Kasra* (i-Laut) am Ende. Der coole Teil: على ändert seine Form vor Pronomen.
Allein endet es auf *Alif Maqsura* (ى). Aber mit einem Pronominalsuffix wird daraus ein scharfes ي (*y*).

  • على فكرة (*'alā fikra*) = Übrigens.

  • الحساب عليّ (*al-ḥisāb 'alayya*) = Die Rechnung geht auf mich.
