Fíjate en que en español, para que esta estructura sea gramaticalmente correcta, solemos necesitar una negación previa (el no antes del verbo). En alemán, la estructura weder... noch funciona de una manera mucho más elegante y, sobre todo, autosuficiente.
A diferencia del español, donde el ni suele ser un refuerzo de una negación ya existente, weder... noch es una conjunción correlativa que contiene su propia carga negativa. Esto significa que, al usarla, ya no necesitas (y de hecho, no debes) añadir un nicht o un kein adicional para negar los elementos.
