¿Alguna vez entraste a una cafetería de moda en Teherán, se te antojó un pastel y el mesero dijo: No tenemos? Ese momento de decepción es tu entrada a la regla de hoy. Negar tener (*dāshtan*) es sorprendentemente directo, pero rompe las reglas de otros verbos.
Es el verbo rebelde. Ya sea que le digas a un amigo que no tienes dinero (pul), tiempo (vaght) o paciencia (hosele), este simple prefijo cambia todo.

How This Grammar Works

En persa, la mayoría de los verbos en presente usan el prefijo mi- (como miravam para voy). Pero *dāshtan* (tener) es especial. No usa mi- en el presente positivo (decimos dāram, no midāram).
Cuando queremos decir no tengo, simplemente añadimos el prefijo negativo na- directamente al verbo. Eso es todo. Nada de nemi-, solo na-.
El acento (énfasis) de la palabra cambia agresivamente a esta primera sílaba. Así que mientras dāRAM (tengo) acentúa el final, naDĀram (no tengo) golpea el principio.
