En persa, el verbo ser en presente (que se llama budan / بودن) tiene formas afirmativas como hastam (yo soy) o ast (él es).hast- y adopta la raíz nist-.na- (como en nemiravam - no voy), con el verbo ser no puedes añadir prefijos. La negación ya está cocinada dentro de la palabra nist.
