Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use the imperfective present to describe actions happening right now or habits you do regularly.

  • Use it for actions in progress: 'Чета книга' (I am reading a book).
  • Use it for repeated habits: 'Пия кафе всяка сутрин' (I drink coffee every morning).
  • Conjugate by removing the infinitive ending and adding the present tense suffixes.

Meanings

The imperfective present describes an action that is currently unfolding or occurs as a recurring habit without focusing on its completion.
