The Prefix 'ne-' for Verbs
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To make a Czech verb negative, simply attach the prefix 'ne-' directly to the beginning of the conjugated verb form.
- Attach 'ne-' to the start: 'piju' (I drink) becomes 'nepiju' (I don't drink).
- No extra words needed: Unlike English 'do not', Czech uses only the prefix.
