شرطی نوع اول: اگر داری انجام می‌دهی... (حال استمراری)

اینجوری میتونی یه کار «در حال انجام» یا «برنامه‌های فعلی» رو به «نتایج آینده» ربط بدی.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'If + Present Continuous' to talk about results of actions happening right now or future plans.

  • Use for current actions: 'If you're looking for your keys, they're here.'
  • Use for future plans: 'If you're coming tonight, I'll buy extra pizza.'
  • The result clause usually uses 'will' or a modal like 'can' or 'should'.

(If it rains, I will stay home).

If you're going out, can you grab me a coffee?

2
The If-Clause (The Condition): از فرمول if + [Subject] + [am/is/are] + [verb-ing] استفاده کن. این همون Present Continuous استاندارد خودته.
3
The Main Clause (The Result): از [Subject] + [will/won't] + [base verb] استفاده کن. اینم که همون Future Simple استاندارد هست.
4
Positive: If you are staying at home, I will bring the pizza to you.
5
Negative: If they aren't coming to the party, we won't order as much food.
6
Question: If she is working late, will she still meet us for drinks?
7
یادت باشه که می‌تونی ترتیب جملات رو عوض کنی! I'll join the Discord call if I'm not playing a ranked match. فقط حواست باشه وقتی if میاد وسط جمله، دیگه به کاما نیاز نداری. انگار یه دست دادن مخفیانه بین جمله‌هاست.

کی استفاده کنیم

توی چهار تا موقعیت اصلی بهتره سراغ این ساختار بری:
  • Current Actions: وقتی شرط همین الان داره اتفاق می‌افته. If you're listening to that podcast, I'll turn the volume down.
  • Future Arrangements: وقتی کسی از قبل برای کاری برنامه ریخته. If you're flying to London tomorrow, you'll need your passport.
  • Temporary Situations: برای چیزهایی که دائمی نیستن. If you're staying at a hotel this week, I'll come visit you.
  • Ongoing Trends: If the Earth is getting warmer, sea levels will rise.

  • If you will be working... (اصلاً!)
  • If you are working... (آره، همینه!)
یه اشتباه کلاسیک دیگه، فراموش کردن فعل be هست ([am/is/are]). نمی‌تونی فقط بگی If you working.

  • Present Simple: If you eat that, you will be sick. (شرط کلی / هر زمانی).
  • Present Continuous: If you are eating that right now, you will be sick. (تمرکز روی کار خاصی که همین لحظه داره انجام می‌شه).
اینجوری بهش فکر کن: Present Simple برای «قوانین جهان» هست، در حالی که Present Continuous برای «اخبار روز».
مقایسه با شرطی نوع دوم:
  • First (Continuous): If he is studying, I won't disturb him. (ممکنه واقعاً همین الان در حال درس خوندن باشه).
  • Second: If he were studying, he would pass. (داره درس نمی‌خونه، احتمالاً داره ماینکرفت بازی می‌کنه).
یکی درباره زندگی واقعیه؛ اون یکی درباره یه دنیای رویاییه که توش آدم‌ها واقعاً تکالیفشون رو به موقع انجام می‌دن.

سؤالات رایج

Q

Can I use going to instead of will?

قطعاً! If you're coming to the gym, I'm going to wait for you. توی مکالمه حتی غیررسمی‌تر و طبیعی‌تر به نظر می‌رسه.

Q

Is it okay to use this for the weather?

بله! If it's raining outside, I'll take an Uber. این یعنی *همین الان* که داری تصمیم می‌گیری، داره بارون میاد.

Q

Can I use other modal verbs like can or should?

حتماً می‌تونی. If you're feeling tired, you should take a nap. انگلیسی منعطف‌تر از این حرفاست.

Q

Does this work with stative verbs like 'know' or 'want'?

معمولاً نه. ما نمی‌گیم If I am wanting. برای این افعال از همون Present Simple استفاده کن: If I want.

Q

Is this formal?

حالتش خنثی هست. می‌تونی توی یه ایمیل کاری ازش استفاده کنی (If you are still considering our proposal...) یا توی پیام به صمیمی‌ترین دوستت (If you're ghosting me, I'll find out!).

Yes! You can say `If you're coming, I'm going to be so happy.` It works just like `will`.

No, it's actually very common in casual speech because it reacts to what is happening *now*.

If it's a general habit, use the Present Simple: `If you smoke, you get sick.` If it's a temporary habit, use Continuous: `If you're smoking a lot these days, you should stop.`

Yes. `If I'm being too loud, please tell me.` This is very common when talking about your own behavior.

In English, the 'if' clause is a condition, and conditions are expressed with present tenses, even if they refer to the future.

Yes. `Unless you're joking, I'm very angry.` It follows the same rules as 'if'.

Generally, no. We don't say `If you're knowing the answer`. We say `If you know the answer`.

No, this is only for present or future. For the past, you would need the Third Conditional.
