in five minutesیعنی ۵ دقیقه دیگر (یک نقطه در آینده). اما وقتی میگوییدwithin five minutesیعنی در طول این ۵ دقیقه (از همین الان تا ۵ دقیقه آینده). این تفاوتِ «نقطه زمانی» با «بازه زمانی» است.
- 1در زمینه مفاهیم انتزاعی:
inبرای بیان حالت به کار میرود (مثلin loveیاin trouble). اماwithinبرای بیان مطابقت با قوانین یا تواناییها استفاده میشود. مثلاًwithin the law(در چارچوب قانون) یاwithin my reach(در دسترس من).
