Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The subjunctive expresses wishes, doubts, or possibilities rather than concrete facts.
- Use it after verbs of desire: 'Ես ուզում եմ, որ դու գաս' (I want you to come).
- Use it for hypothetical scenarios: 'Եթե ես իմանայի, կասեի' (If I knew, I would say).
- Use it for commands or suggestions: 'Թող նա գնա' (Let him go).

Meanings
The subjunctive mood is used to express actions that are desired, possible, or uncertain, rather than objective facts.
Desire and Will
Expressing what someone wants to happen.
“Ես ուզում եմ, որ նա երջանիկ լինի։”
“Նրանք պահանջում են, որ մենք հեռանանք։”
Hypothetical/Conditional
Expressing non-factual or imagined states.
“Եթե ես լինեի քո տեղում, կգնայի։”
“Կարծես թե նա գիտի ճշմարտությունը։”
