Prepositions Indicating Cause and Purpose
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use `համար` for purpose and `պատճառով` for cause; both usually follow a noun in the Genitive case.
- Use `համար` (hamar) for 'for' or 'purpose' with Genitive: `քեզ համար` (for you).
- Use `պատճառով` (patcharov) for 'because of' (neutral/negative) with Genitive: `անձրևի պատճառով` (because of rain).

Meanings
These words (mostly postpositions) indicate the reason something happened (cause) or the goal of an action (purpose).
Purpose (Goal)
Expressing the intended result or recipient of an action using `համար` or `նպատակով`.
“Սա քեզ համար է:”
“Մենք սովորում ենք հաջողության հասնելու նպատակով:”
Cause (Reason)
Explaining why something occurred, distinguishing between neutral/negative reasons (`պատճառով`) and positive ones (`շնորհիվ`).

Pause and think: Am I happy or sad? If happy, use 'shnorhiv'. If sad/neutral, use 'patcharov'.
Always change the '-լ' to '-լու' before adding 'համար'.
Look at the word right before it; that is the person or thing the action is benefiting.
