過去形:疑問文の作り方 (Did you...?)

「Did」と動詞の「原型」を使って、「過去」に「終わった行動」について質問します。動詞の形は変えなくて大丈夫ですよ。

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'Did' + Subject + Base Verb to ask about finished actions in the past.

  • Start with 'Did' for all subjects (I, you, he, they). Example: 'Did you go?'
  • Use the base form of the verb, NOT the past form. Example: 'Did he see?' (not 'saw')
  • Answer with 'Yes, I did' or 'No, I didn't' for short responses.
Did + 👤 + 🏃‍♂️ (Base Verb) + ?

Overview

友達に Did you went to the party?

How This Grammar Works

did を強力なヘルパーと考えてください。文法用語では、助動詞と呼びます。その唯一の仕事は、聞き手に「ねえ、今は過去の話をしているんだよ!」と伝えることです。 did がすでに文の「過去感」を担っているため、メインの動詞は原形のままです。一人が重労働をすべてこなすチームのようなものです。 Did you go?

Formation Pattern

1
過去単純形の質問をするには、非常に厳格なレシピに従います。毎回正しく行うために、以下のステップに従ってください:
2
did という言葉で始めます。
3
主語( youshethey 、または your boss など)を追加します。
4
動詞の原形を使用します( -ed なし、不規則変化なし)。
5
追加の詳細( yesterdayto the gym など)を加えます。
6
クエスチョンマークで締めくくります。
7
Form | 例 | 翻訳
8
--- | --- | ---
9
Did + I | Did I leave my keys? | 鍵を置き忘れたかな?
10
Did + you | Did you see the news? | ニュースを見た?
11
Did + he/she/it | Did she call you? | 彼女はあなたに電話した?
12
Did + we | Did we win the game? | 試合に勝った?
13
Did + they | Did they order pizza? | 彼らはピザを注文した?
14
WhereWhy のような特定の質問をしたい場合は、その言葉を一番最初に置くだけです。例えば: Where did you go?What did you eat? です。

When To Use It

このパターンは、過去に起こって完了したことについて知りたいときにいつでも使います。「近況報告」の瞬間に最適です。週末について友達にメールしているところを想像してみてください。 Did you have fun?Did you see that movie? と尋ねるかもしれません。仕事で何かを確認するのにも最適です。 Did you send that email?Did you finish the report? などです。
Did you just hear that noise? のようにごく最近のことや、 Did you live in London in 2010? のようにずっと前のことにも使えます。また、旅行のVlogやInstagramのキャプションにもぴったりの構造です。 Did we actually find the hidden beach? は素晴らしいフックになります!覚えておいてほしいのは、動作が完全に完了している必要があるということです。まだ続いている場合は、別のルールが必要です。

Common Mistakes

最も一般的な罠は、 did と一緒にメインの動詞の過去形を使ってしまうことです。 Did you saw?Did you went? とは絶対に言わないでください。 Did you see?Did you go? でなければなりません。 did を、他の動詞から過去形の要素をすべて吸い取るスポンジと考えてください。もう一つの間違いは、 did を完全に忘れてしまうことです。語尾を上げて You went to the store? と言う人がいます。カジュアルなチャットなら通じるかもしれませんが、正式な質問としては文法的に正しくありません。また、 to be 動詞にも注意してください。 Did you be happy? とは言えません。代わりに Were you happy? を使ってください。 didwas/were は油と水のようなものです。同じ単純な質問の中で混ぜてはいけません!以前、霧を捕まえようとしました。霧(Mist)でした(Missed/逃した)。(わかりますか?Mist/霧?Missed/逃した?はい、次へ進みましょう)。

Contrast With Similar Patterns

現在単純形( do/does )と混同しがちです。 do/does は現在の習慣や事実のためのものであることを忘れないでください。 did は厳格に過去のためのものです。
  • 現在: Do you like sushi? (一般的に)
  • 過去: Did you like the sushi? (昨夜食べた特定の寿司)
また、過去単純形の肯定文と比較してみてください。
  • 肯定文: You went home. (過去形を使用)
  • 質問: Did you go home?did があるため原形を使用)
バランスとして考えてください。肯定文では、動詞が過去の重みを背負います。質問では、 did が助けに入り、動詞は休みを取ります。誰が仕事をしているかがすべてです!

「Did」は「スポンジ」みたい

「Did」を、過去形を全部吸い取るスポンジだと思ってください。スポンジが過去形を吸い取ったら、メインの動詞はもう乾いて(=原型で)大丈夫です! "Think of 'did' as a sponge that soaks up the past tense. Once the sponge is full, the main verb stays dry and normal."
⚠️

過去形を二度使わないで

「Did」を使っているのに、動詞も過去形にするのは絶対にNGです。「Did you saw」はネイティブスピーカーにとって大きな間違いですよ。 "Never use 'did' with a past verb. 'Did you saw' is a huge red flag for native speakers."
💡

短い答えも大事

「はい」や「いいえ」だけでなく、「Yes, I did」や「No, I didn't」と答えると、もっと自然で丁寧な印象になります。 "Use 'Yes, I did' or 'No, I didn't' instead of just 'Yes' or 'No' to sound more natural and polite."

Smart Tips

Remember: 'Did' is the past tense marker. It's like a sponge that soaks up all the past tense from the other verbs.

よくある質問 (8)

No. You must say `Did you go?`. The word `did` already tells us it is the past, so the main verb stays in the base form.

No. For the verb 'to be', you just swap the subject and the verb: `Were you happy?` (not `Did you were happy?`).

Yes! Unlike the present tense (do/does), `did` is the same for every subject in the past tense.

Use a short answer: `Yes, I did` or `No, I didn't`. This sounds more natural than just saying `Yes` or `No`.

Use `Did you see` for a specific time (yesterday). Use `Have you seen` for general experience (ever).

Yes. You can say `Didn't you see the sign?` to express surprise.

When the question word (Who/What) is the subject of the sentence, we don't use `did`. We just use the past tense verb.

No. Modal verbs like `can` (could) and `must` (had to) have their own ways of forming questions and do not use `did` support.
