Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'ထင်သည်' (htin-thi) at the end of a clause to express your personal opinion or belief about a situation.
- Place 'ထင်သည်' after the main verb or adjective clause: 'မိုးရွာမယ်ထင်တယ်' (I think it will rain).
- For negative opinions, negate the verb inside the clause: 'မကောင်းဘူးထင်တယ်' (I think it's not good).
- Use the colloquial 'တယ်' ending for daily speech: 'ထင်တယ်' instead of the formal 'ထင်သည်'.

The verb 'ထင်သည်' functions as a modal marker to indicate that the preceding statement is the speaker's subjective opinion or assessment rather than a verified fact.

Both relate to thinking, but one is for opinions and the other for deep beliefs.
One is colloquial, one is formal.
Adding 'မိ' adds a nuance of 'I happened to think'.
