É o tempo da certeza e da distância. Ao contrário do português irei, o francês apenas cola a parte do futuro no final do verbo. É eficiente, elegante e fácil de dominar.

How This Grammar Works

Imagine o futur simple como um conjunto de LEGO. Você tem uma base (o radical) e blocos (as terminações). Para verbos regulares, a base é quase sempre o verbo inteiro!
Você pega o infinitivo e adiciona as terminações. Essas terminações vêm, na verdade, do verbo avoir no presente. Se você conhece j'ai, tu as, il a, já tem 50% do caminho andado.
Sujeitos masculinos e femininos não mudam as terminações.

Olha só que legal! As terminações do futuro são quase as mesmas do presente do verbo 'avoir'. 'J'ai' vira '-ai', 'Tu as' vira '-as', 'Il a' vira '-a', 'Ils ont' vira '-ont'. Isso ajuda muito a memorizar! Por exemplo, em 'Je parlerai', o '-ai' é como o 'j'ai'.
