Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Past Perfect to describe an action that happened before another action in the past.
- Form the past participle by adding 'e' to the stem: 'raft' -> 'rafte'.
- Add the past tense of 'to be' (budan): 'rafte budam' (I had gone).
- For negatives, place 'na' before the participle: 'na-rafte budam' (I had not gone).

How This Grammar Works
Mazi-ye Ba'id (ماضی بعید)，字面意思是“遥远的过去”。与使用“had”的英语不同，波斯语使用主要动词的过去分词搭配بودن (budan，意为“是/存在”)的过去时。最棒的一点是什么？你的主要动词就像被冻结了一样完全不变，你只需要变位句末的助动词。
Formation Pattern
ن (-n)。例如，رفتن (raftan - 去) 变成 رفت (raft)。
ه (-e)。这就构成了过去分词。所以，رفت变成了رفته (rafte)。
بودن (budan)的过去时变位：بودم (我是)，بودی (你是)，بود (他/她/它是)，بودیم (我们是)，بودید (你们是)，بودند (他们是)。
رفته + بودم = رفته بودم (rafte budam - 我已经去过了)。
ن (na-)。不要动助动词！所以“我没去过”变成نرفته بودم (narafte budam)。

Common Mistakes
